Hi, I’m Ric Chandler, and I’ve dedicated my life to music.

I’m a professional Drummer, Producer, Composer, and Educator with 36 years of experience touring and recording around the world. I’m also a member of the band Lung.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with five No.1-selling artists worldwide, including Gary Numan, Calvin Harris, Modern English, Amy Studt, and Jimmy James & The Vagabonds.

I’ve also performed on many iconic television shows around the world, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in the USA, Top of the Pops and Friday Night Live in the UK, and Nulle Part Ailleurs (NPA) in France.

Over the years, I’ve spoken and performed at many drum clinics, drum schools, and major events, appearing alongside legendary drummers such as Billy Cobham and Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, while endorsing Pearl Drums and Zildjian Cymbals.

These experiences made me realise how important it is to pass on not just knowledge, but the skills, mindset, musicality, and real-world understanding drummers need to reach their full potential behind the kit and in their careers.

 That is why I created Drum Academy 1:1 Coaching.

With Drum Academy 1:1 Coaching, my mission is to help drummers unlock their full potential and make real progress through focused, personalised coaching built on real-world experience, strong musical foundations, and a clear path forward.

Whether students want to take their drumming to a professional level or simply feel more confident playing live with a band, Drum Academy is designed to help you move forward in a structured, personal, and enjoyable way.

Studio Recording and Drum Sessions

 With 36 years as a professional drummer, I’ve gained extensive recording experience working with a wide range of artists and producers around the world.

As a recording drummer, I’ve worked with artists including Modern English, Calvin Harris, Tricky, Amy Studt, Gary Numan, Un-Cut, Rico, Jimmy James & The Vagabonds, The High Fidelity /Soup Dragons, Matthew Jay, Tam!, Brian Robertson(Thin Lizzy,Motorhead), Imogen Heap, Swati Natekar, Silicone Soul, Sidewinder, The Jazz Collective, Dom Brown(Duran Duran), and many others.

I’ve also worked with acclaimed producers including Mario McNulty(Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie), Tim Goldsworthy(Primal Scream/Uncle/DJ Shadow), Jim Abbiss(Sneaker Pimps/Lamb/Massive Attack), Ric Peet (Charlatans/Six by Seven/Muse), Ian Jones(Metallica/Faith No More/EMI USA), and many others.

Recording drums is something I’m deeply passionate about, and that passion led me to create Drum Sessions — a service that delivers world-class, high-quality remote drum recordings designed to help artists’ records stand out.

My mission with Drum Sessions is to help artists, songwriters, producers, and bands bring their songs to life with powerful, musical, professional drum tracks recorded with feel, precision, creativity, and a deep understanding of what every song truly needs.

Musical Director

In London, England, I became a highly in-demand Musical Director for many major-label artists across EMI, Universal, Polydor, Sony/BMG, and Warner Music.

My role was to take artists’ album productions to the live stage with flexibility, musicality, and precision, drawing on my extensive experience with music technology and as a multi-instrumentalist.

Producer and Composer for Sync

Another major passion of mine is producing and composing music for sync licensing for use in Netflix, HBO, Film, and Television.

I learned this craft from Michael Elsner of Elite Music Coaching, who has achieved thousands of sync placements and now teaches Sync Licensing with his Partner Jody Friedman, an established Music Supervisor. Michael also teaches Business through his new company ‘Freedom First Ventures’

I’m currently building a catalogue of music in my studio for Lung Publishing Company to have the music placed in film, television, and streaming productions.
