Hi, I’m Ric Chandler.

For 36 years I’ve lived and breathed music — touring the world’s biggest stages, recording with some of the most iconic artists of our time, and dedicating myself entirely to the craft of drumming.

I’m a professional Drummer, Producer, Composer, and Educator. Throughout my career I’ve had the privilege of working with five No.1-selling artists worldwide, including Gary Numan, Calvin Harris, Modern English, Amy Studt, and Jimmy James & The Vagabonds.

I’ve performed on some of the world’s most iconic television shows — The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in the USA, Top of the Pops and Friday Night Live in the UK, and Nulle Part Ailleurs in France. I’ve spoken and performed at drum clinics and major events alongside legendary drummers such as Billy Cobham and Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, and I proudly endorse Pearl Drums and Zildjian Cymbals.

Those 36 years taught me something important — the difference between a drummer who plateaus and one who truly flourishes isn’t talent. It’s having the right foundations, the right guidance, and a clear path forward.

That’s why I created Drum Academy 1:1 Coaching. My mission is simple: to help drummers unlock their full potential through focused, personalised coaching built on real-world experience and strong musical foundations — whether you want to reach a professional level or simply feel more confident playing live with a band.

Drum Sessions — Remote Recording

With 36 years of professional recording experience I’ve worked with an extraordinary range of artists and producers worldwide — including Calvin Harris, Gary Numan, Modern English, Tricky, Imogen Heap, Dom Brown of Duran Duran, and Brian Robertson of Thin Lizzy and Motörhead.

I’ve also collaborated with world-class producers including Mario McNulty (Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie), Jim Abbiss (Massive Attack, Lamb), and Ian Jones (Metallica, Faith No More).

That passion for recording led me to create Drum Sessions — a remote drum recording service delivering world-class, musical drum tracks for artists, songwriters, producers, and bands who want their songs to truly stand out.

Musical Director

Based in London, I became a highly in-demand Musical Director for major-label artists across EMI, Universal, Polydor, Sony/BMG, and Warner Music — taking artists’ album productions to the live stage with musicality, precision, and creative flexibility.

Composer & Sync Licensing

I’m also deeply passionate about composing and producing music for sync licensing — creating original music for film, television, and streaming productions including Netflix and HBO. I’m currently building a catalogue through Lung Publishing Company with the goal of having music placed in productions worldwide.

I’m also a proud member of Lung — with Chris Chandler a band that sits at the heart of everything I do creatively outside of my session and touring work.
